Change can be hard. You get into your groove and before you know it, life has passed you by. Recently I heard a saying that really made me stop and think.
“It’s too easy to exist and too hard to live.”
I am the type of person who gets very comfortable living a routine life, but I know that to really thrive I need to step out of that routine. I look back at my life and know that it’s the times when I put myself out there that I have really felt alive.
This past year was one of those times. Randall and I have been talking about creating our own real estate brokerage from practically the day we met. We took a leap of faith and in June opened Stocker and Watts. I can honestly tell you it’s been full speed ahead and we haven’t looked back. Our dream has always been to build a company that feels young and fresh and encourages the entrepreneurial spirit. We know we don’t have all the answers. Heck, we don’t even know all the questions. Our goal is to have an environment that fosters ideas and helps other agents build a strong business. We know we are stronger together.
Part of my new role is to find agents we want to add to our team. We aren’t looking for just any agent. We are looking for agents that share our passions and see our vision and are willing to share their visions with us. I want an environment where everyone feels comfortable and really enjoys working together.
Real estate can be very lonely. You can be working for one of the big companies with several other agents and still feel alone. From the start of our real estate careers, Randall and I have been a team. Joining together has really helped to build our success. We are there as support for each other and help push each other. We can bounce ideas off each other and help to motivate one another. We are there to talk the other off a ledge when an escrow may be difficult. Through mutual respect and trust we have built a strong partnership. From very early on, we noticed other agents creating partnerships because they see the benefit of what we do. We have teamed up with an amazing programmer to create a platform that will really help support us in the work that we do. If we can dream it, he can create it. We are still in the beginning phases and want input from other agents. We want to build a system that is scalable and will really help to enhance our business. A tool that will put everything that we need at our fingertips. We have lots of ideas.
We are excited about what we are building. We want agents who share that enthusiasm and want a partner that can help support them in building their business.
